Except by folks with 3D printers.

$750 going rate on GB right now. Crazy.

We’re they always that high?

I just bought Solidworks student, and they gave me a $350 gift card for a $1000 3D printer that has 5 stars on Amazon. So tempting.....

no. $175 for the junk one, $300 for the nice adjustable one
just have someone 3d print one for you
just have someone 3d print one for you

Check your local library, they may have one. If you're in EBR a couple or some of them do.

gun nuts are just as bad as the people who want to ban all guns IMO
This...if there is justification to ban full auto then there is justification to ban bump stocks and binary triggers.
Now if you want to advocate for legality of full auto then we can have that discussion.

They are talking about banning them completely, no grandfathering, kinda shooting yourself in the foot if you don't get rid of them. Hurts the whole all these law abiding gun owners thing that constantly gets repeated.

Considering that you can still buy a full auto weapon legally leads me to believe that you don't know what you're talking about therefore offer no substance to this discussion.

Turning millions into felons overnight over bullshite laws is stupid.

Probably won’t be overnight, one would hope they would give advanced notice to destroy or turn them in.
Buying these things right after this incident because of a ban scare that now looks like it will happen is even more moronic. Especially at the prices on GB.

I think we found a liberal or at least someone that doesn't know what they are talking

if anything, they'll just be serialized. i doubt there will be an outright ban on them. the rest would have to be "grandfathered" in i would think.

I argued this on the OT and someone said I was being ridiculous because access to 3D printers isn't that easy

There is a whole community of folks around a handful of core designs that can print themselves, thus becoming self-replicating. But, commercially, under $1000 for average quality 3D printers and $3000 for better ones.
Let's put it this way - Paddock would have easily been able to make one if the stocks had already been "banned" - he was what one would consider a "dedicated" evildoer.

Soooo how many "student licenses" can you get? I'm currently using/learning CAD/CAM using Fusion 360, but for the right price would love to add solidworks for 3D meshes. As someone who's learning wouldn't that qualify me as a student?

Substitute whatever you feel you need not worry about in the first 3 verses of the above poem.

Doesn’t look like it, Republicans are asking the ATF to relook at it. NRA is fine with it. They look like they are headed for outright ban.
