Braid, mono, or flouro

I recently moved back to Louisiana from Florida. While I was in Florida, all I used was braid except for my cranking rod. Since i've moved back, I haven't caught nearly the numbers of fish I did in Florida. I guess my question is do y'all think braid has something to do with it? Maybe I should switch to flouro?

I use braid with a fluoro leader.
50# braid / 20# fluoro
15# braid / 12# fluoro
I have not fished braid without the leader, so I do not actually know first hand if it spooks the fish or not, some say yes and some say no.
I mainly use the fluoro to get a little sinking action and not having to cut the braid when I re-rig baits.

Mono on my baitcasters, braid on my spinning reels. I always tie on a flouro leader no matter what I'm using.

i dont like mono on my bass gear. To much stretch.

Look into the copolymers as a subsitute for mono.
I use P-Line fluoroclear for a few applications and have not had a single problem (spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, senko, trap, etc).
I dont have the balls or the money to run straight fluorocarbon on anything.

What do you mean you don't have the balls?

Flouro is The Big Lie. I basically use nothing but mono now. If I frog fished a lot or pitched trees more, I'd have some braid set ups.

Braid is the best thing EVAR
Flouro sucks
I like mono but you can't pay me to put it on a spinning reel or zebco.

I fish braid with a fluoro leader.
Bass - 20lb braid, 10lb leader.
Salt - 30lb braid, 20lb leader, or 30lb leader if jigging structure.

why does flouro suck?

It twists to hell and back. Doesn't hold knots well. Costs too much. Was invented by communists.

Well i'm no commy supporter so no flouro for me

i use braid for 2 things, topwaters and punching. Everything else is fluoro for me

I'll find the article that confirmed my real life experiences in just a bit.

Downshift covered most of it. I have just heard many horror stories of using straight fluoro.
If my pockets were deep enough to gamble with it, I might give it a shot just to see for myself.
I am hooked on the braid/fluoro leader at the moment. 1 spool of each should last me a few years.

if they're using braid, they're using a fluoro leader, book it. hell, in the classic in guntersville, every single angler was using fluoro with their lipless cranks and chatterbaits for a couple reasons, to keep the bait down in the grass, and because there's less stretch

I'm on the flourocarbon sucks train also. If you need it a clear leader, I do fine with clear mono.

here's an easy fix, use an inexpensive mono filler and put just enough fluoro on it to cast.
also, don't buy crap
