I have a couple .22 rifles and have been wanting to get a handgun for a while, and in light of recent events I finally decided it's time. I really want a nice 1911 in the future, but this should hold me over for a while until I have the money to spend on a "fun" gun. We're on the road traveling fairly often, and I just felt like we needed some personal protection in the car and at home. I went in expecting to buy a S&W .38 Special, but ended up walking out with this...

Can anyone make a suggestion for a decent car mount, maybe something under the dash that doesn't require abusing my car to mount it (if that exists)?

Beautiful revolver.

I've gone shooting with my dad a few times, but I've never had much interest in owning a gun myself. Now, I'm all about my personal protection. I bought a S&W M&P 9mm myself today.

Great gun. 4 inch barrel will give the 357 mag it's real velocity and this gun will make 38 special recoil feel like nothing. This is a great versatile gun.

I have been wanting this gun for awhile to be my woods gun.

Mount wise, it doesn't exist.

Anything worth AF requires drilling.

What kind of car do you have?

I have a a cheap uncle mike in my sequoia under my console on the right side. It's attached to a screw with a wire tie. Pano the wire tie is on the front of the holster attached to a bar.

It's extremely secure and out of sight.

Snakes don't stand a chance with that!

I kid, I kid! Here's to you and the rest of us sane ones never having to use it. Sweet revolver.

I have a new Jag XJL so I'm a tad reluctant to start drilling holes in it.

Look for any bars or whatever that you can get a wire tie around underneath the consol.

Here's one mount that doesn't require drilling holes:

I don't know anyone who has actually tried one. I'd recommend buying a good belt holster and using that instead of some kind of car holster.
