In a world where nearly everyone carries an HD camera at all times, and thousands upon thousands of game cameras in the woods year in and year out, there isn't one picture or video showing one. Add to the fact that there has never been one killed by a hunter or a vehicle, and I think they are BS. Eyes play tricks.

I mean you can believe in a lot of things. I tend to go with the genetic fact that the melanistic gene does not exist in the north American panther/cougar/mountain lion.

All these people that swear they've seen one...

Oh really? Where is the picture then? Thousands of trail cameras in the woods, and no legitimate picture yet?

It's all bullshite, and everyone knows it. Anyone that claims they've seen one and can't produce proof is full of it.

SEVERAL really does put it in the unbelievable category, though. Tell those motherfrickers to produce a picture then if they have SEVERAL around there.

Geez...

That's great, but you have never seen a black cat in Louisiana unless it was a house cat. This is an undeniable scientific fact. There is no debating the existence of a the black panther.

I'm telling you, he swears by it. At first, I thought he and his beer buddy were clowning around and just trying to see how gullible the "city boy" was. Then I realized he was serious. I told him that unless somebody was raising them at a private zoo and they all escaped, there were no mountain lions around here, and there sure as shite weren't any black ones. But he swears that not only are there black panthers around here, but "there's a bunch of 'em."

A scientific fact? Yeah right! In the mid 70's I bought timber for a saw mill at the gates of Angola in West Feliciana Parish. Early one morning while driving on the Bains Road a big tan cat with a very long tailed darted in front of my truck. About 10 years ago I was estimating timber for a land sale in the swamp behind Madewood Plantation by Napoleonville. The farmer and I was talking and he said on many every evenings a Black Panther would get up on a tree stump and watch him work the fields. About six years ago I was walking down a woods road in Pointe Coupee Parish. About 150 feet in front of me a big black cat with a very long tail walked slowly across the road in front of me. Appeared and disappeard, never seeing me. About 15 years ago I was below Vinton,Texas estimating timber by the bay. I had finished and had sat on a log to rest before I made the walk out. All of a sudden a bob cat with a squirrel in mouth walk in front of me. I could have touched him, but I remained frozen, He just walked on by. Appeared and disappeared. I have many more stories, but in other words shite does happen. And for all you jackasses who never had a life, go smoke your crack but do not tell me about scientific fact and your closed minds. You do not know anything but what you read about and your little minds will let you believe. You clowns should hear my ghost stories.GFY

Those cats only get about half as big as a bobcat.

But what does it all mean, Basil?

Where's the proof? All these "sightings", and not one damn photo or video that shows, inarguably, that black panthers exist. Same with sasquatch, bigfoot, Skunkape..whatever you want to call it.

People claim shite is real, and there is no evidence...that's not how science works.

Until Cousin Eddie can prove he saw the 'Squatch or his black kitty...GTFO with your science hating shite.

So,I guess all you SCIENTIST on this thread have the view that man is alone in the universe. I say, I say the UNIVERSE son. No such possibility that there just might be some other form of alien life out there. What do you think about that? Huh? Inquiring minds need to know.

Science says the odds of there NOT being life on other planets somewhere in the vastness of space are extremely small.

Does that answer your question?

I will tell you this, I have a pic of a big black cat on a trail camera. When I get time, probably next week, I will post it. Common names such as cougar, big cat, panther and many other local names from different areas are just what they are, common names. Scientific names are more specific and is the correct way to identify a specie, but who gives a shite. Calling a big black cat by a common name is like calling a white person a vanilla wafer.
