Snook X 100. Taste of a speck, but fillets the size of Reds. The saltwater bass.

For me: flounder
Cobia
Tuna
Sheepshead

Haven't had yet but will:
Wahoo
Snook
Triple tail

Those three I hear are some of the best eating

I was about to say the same. For those saying Tilefish, where have you eaten these? It's my understanding that they don't live in this area.

Find them in extremely deep water.

Buddy I work with went this past weekend offshore. They caught 25 tilefish.

Silver salmon has to be up there. Gotta catch it before it hits fresh water though.

Redfish is a close second to me. Some people think I'm crazy for saying that, but when they're cooked right there's nothing better.

Third would probably be triple tail.

For those of you that keep referring to flounder as the best tasting, is it because they are relatively easy to catch with a smaller boat or bay boat and you just haven't tasted the more "deepwater" species, or have you tried most of what's in the Gulf and still rank it that high? Honest question...I mean, I LOVE flounder, but no way it goes higher than things like Cobia, Wahoo, tilefish, etc...IMHO

I've only had Cobia a handful of times, but honestly it wasn't near as good as flounder when I had it.

I'm not huge into offshore fishing, but I've caught and ate pretty much every kind of deepwater species.
