Couldn't find a thread in search...

What's yalls preferred brands? Have used a cheaper Streamlight past few seasons and not really happy with battery life and brightness. Considering a Black Diamond brand, any thoughts?

I've got a Nitecore HC30 that I really like - Very lightweight, with brightness levels from "the Sun" down to "a Firefly" (It definitely works better with an 18650 battery, which I am set up for). Of course, how long the battery lasts depends on how bright you have it set for, but I have no complaints about the battery life - Only downside to me is that the headband needs to be stickier.

Fenix!!!!

Seriously pick a fenix of any size you like get a rechargeable battery that they sell with the highest amp hours available and one you will be as happy as can be. Some of their headlamps have built in chargers that plug in by micro USB

Work just made me swap out my streamlight as its not intrinsically safe for a pelican headlight.

For the money it's been damn good and the batteries last forever. Damn things been through caustic and chlorine. Damn rugged. Rode with me through this hurricane coverage out there as well.

I had one that I found out about on here about 5 years ago.

Thing was from China and came with a rechargeable battery. It was like having a Q beam on your forehead. I wish I could remember what it was because it got ran over by my truck last year and I miss it.

Excellent for frogging!

You may be talking about this one. A buddy of mine turned me onto it and I LOVE it. Rechargeable, and like you said, it's like a Qbeam on your head. I use it for driving the boat to the camp in the dark.

Started using these a few years ago. You can find similar lights on amazon for a few bucks each, and are almost as bright. I don't use any others anymore. Brightest little light with very little weight.

Get one of those super bright cree lights from Amazon. I bought one for $25 last duck season and it's still going strong. My hunting partner has an expensive steam light headlight that eats up batteries, and my cheap is just as good.

I just got this one. $11 on Amazon. It's very light on the head, water proof, super bright, and has several modes: flash; red, etc.

Runs on AAA batteries and were very easy to change.

Happy with it so far.

Dunno about battery life yet though.

I keep several AAA headlamps in the house and all vehicles. Favorite is a Petzel with white/red/green/blue option.

I prefer the cheap Cree headlamps with 18650 batteries. All of my flashlights are 18650, and most are USB rechargeable, which allows me to charge them in the truck for work and hunting. Amazon is your friend for these.

check out the ArmyTek wizard. It is an amazing light that is though. Most people have not heard of them but everybody in my camp now runs them and love them. It takes an 18650 battery so you would need to buy a charger for it, but those are very cheap.

Black Diamond or Petzel, don't consider anything else. Petzel is the industry leader.

This is the one I have off of Amazon. Great light for hunting and frogging. Stays charged for about 8 hours and charges in about an hour.

I have a black diamond. Really like it for its small size and the fact that it has a red light on it.
