Good gun. Clear cut #2 behind the A400. If you can get it at a discount with the SBE 3 coming out, go for it. If not, wait for the 3 or get the A400. No comparasion between the SBE 2 and A400. SBE 2 is basically the A400 with more recoil. Hopefully the 3 can keep up.

Bought mine when they came out ten years ago, best weapon i have ever bought. Light, shoot it all day at everything, and clean it once a year just because.

Great gun. Love mine, but I'd wait for that 3 to come out.

I have buddies in Arkansas who have put 5+ cases of shells in flooded timber every year for the last 6-8 seasons and they have had no issues. That includs being dropped in the water, sitting on ice type cold weather etc etc.

That's just the duck hunting stuff.... they are great guns now and have been for a long time.

Not sure I would go that far and I am about as big a Beretta homer as there is.

I love mine. It's been used as a push pole, anchor, paddle, beating stick, sunk in marsh mud then picked up and fired, etc. Almost exclusively hunted in salt water and fired thousands of shells through it without issue. I do have to clean it more often than some others, because it's dropped in salt water very often. It's 10 years old now and I just got it cerakoted because all of the original dipping had worn off completely. The only problem I ever had was my recoil spring started getting a little weak a couple years ago, so I replaced it for like $10.

I've killed almost every type of animal I hunt with that gun, and I'll shoot it until it falls apart. I'm sure there are guns that are just as good, but it's made a believer out of me.

Does anyone have any info on the 3 coming out? I can't seem to find anything on it.

Meh I wouldn't go that far. The HK ones were better and I like a Mag Twelve Auto 5 better. If you're one of the folks that actually think you gotta have a 3-1/2" to kill ducks then by all means jump on it. Its as good a 3-1/2" gun as there is made today. I prefer it over that 4x4 fencepost known as a Beretta a400 All kidding aside any of the B guns are just as solid as the others when you get into that price range. I know the SBEII I had was solid and I never had any troubles with it cycling anything I fed it. I just don't shoot a 12 for ducks much anymore. I've bout went 20ga all the time

Man one of my buddies brought his 20ga M2 to Kansas to hunt mallards, and I saw him make some damn far shots on birds. Really made me want one. Sweet little gun for sure

I'm telling ya once you get that 20ga dialed in theres no duck you should be shooting at that you can't kill. I've took a few people to school on what a Mag 20 Browning can do while they sit beside me shooting 3-1/2
"s The trick to the 20's is patterning your gun and using it til you get confidence in it. Now I don't hesitate to grab it and I know if a duck is 45yds or so or in that its going to be a dead bird IF I do my part. Folks keep forgetting a #3 or #2 pellet going 1400fps out of a 20 hits exactly the same as the same pellet going the same speed out of a 12. You'll love a 20 if ya start using one and the M2's are a great one to have

Yes. I only know this because we talked for awhile the other day about that specifically.

that's what i've got, bought it new august of 1997. its got a gazillion rounds through it. only thing that ever went wrong was the ejector broke about 10 years ago. it's been a SERIOUS workhorse. i've killed ducks, geese, dove, quail, rabbits, squirrels, blackbirds, hogs, deer, clay pigeons, and 1 goat with it (long story on the goat).

I almost bought a black one from a dealer near dallas a couple months ago. The price tag they had on it was $699. Had already filled out my paperwork when the manager came over and saw the kid was selling it to me at that price. Manager wanted $1700 but would knock another $100 off for the mistake. At that point I had to tell him to kick rocks.

thats the SBE2 Classic, which doesnt have the Comfortech stock, nor the hard case (comes in cardboard box), 5 chokes (only has 3), or other goodies

I went to the original Bass Pro in Memphis (not the new one at the Pyramid) last year to buy a gun strictly for turkey hunting that shot 3.5's. They had this SBEII on clearance for $1099 plus a $100 rebate plus 10% off for putting it on a BassPro credit card. I ended up buying the SBE. I'm not a big duck hunter pretty much just deer and turkey hunted in Alabama growing up with some wood duck hunting in the swamp, but my new boss has an awesome spot in Arkansas. It killed 2 turkeys for me and plenty of ducks this year without any problems running a bunch of shells (3") through it, so I've been very satisfied I bought it instead of a gun only for turkey hunting. It did only come with 3 chokes and a cardboard box.
