Has anyone used a 12 gauge Bennelli SBE II for duck hunting? If so then what are your thoughts?

Do it.

Or wait for the 3.

Good gun. SBE 3 is coming out in a week so it's a good time to buy one.

That was the best hunting investment I have ever made. It will cycle any shell I have put through it and never bruises up my shoulder.

Another plus is that it cycles low brass shells really well. I shot almost a case of shells over labor day dove hunting and never had a problem.

One of the best guns on the market for duck hunting. I still have a SBE first gen and it is an incredible gun. Can't wait to see/hold the Gen3. Looks like a great gun.

I don't know yet. dont even have an MSRP for the 3, assuming 1899 black/1999 camo, with a MAP around 1749/1849

i expect the SBE2 to drop about 400 bucks after the III is released

Really? I might buy another one if that happens. I want a bottomland one "for my son"... He's 3.

The gun shop I go to always has the lowest price. There is no haggling on the ticket price - take it or leave it.

The gun he has in stock is $1,670.00. Plus he is trying to move some inventory and is selling all in stock shotguns with no sales tax through this Friday.

$1670! Tell him to get fricked and remind him that the new Benelli is about to debut

for a brand SBE2 in camo? doubt it. Benelli has a very strict MAP policy and they will drop any dealers that violate it

You're a sucker if you pay that. Got my SBE II in camo for cheaper than that last year, and as already stated it will probably drop in price in a few weeks when the SBE III comes out

looks like the SBEIII will pull a lot of design elements from the Ethos, and (this is a guess) the Progressive recoil system. Should be the new belle of the ball, im going to try and squeeze some info from our Benelli rep

In fact, I think it was $1250 in camo. This was at bass pro during some kind of big sell. Do you seriously think they would drop BPS for going below MAP...doubt it.

thats the SBE2 Classic, which doesnt have the Comfortech stock, nor the hard case (comes in cardboard box), 5 chokes (only has 3), or other goodies.

ETA: Or it could have been a standard SBEII in Max-4 camo, which has been discontinued for 2 years. discontinued models are not subjected to a MAP

bottom line: it was not a current production SBEII
