Anyone in the market for a soft side cooler should check out Polar Bear Coolers on Amazon. I bought one about a month ago and love it.

The quality is solid, heavy duty fabric on the outside and a ton of insulation inside. It doesn't seem like it will ever tear or rip. It comes with a bottle opener on the zipper, and it's a POS, but everything else is great.

Since I bought this, I don't think i've used my Roadie at all. Especially great for the yak. It's lightweight and easier to store than a hard ice chest.

I have the 12 pack size and it fits a 12 pack of bottles and about 6 pounds of ice. Fits a 12 pack of cans and an entire 8 pound bag of ice

Polar bear is the YETI of soft side coolers. I've had one for about 2 years, works great...

I have one. It's sturdy but it leaks. Haven't gotten around to sending it back yet.

Does it leak at all? I've been using the cheap one from Sam's. Works well enough but they leak.

They are a little pricey for a bag, but i've been more than happy with mine so far. I expect it to last for quite a while.

Why is it leaking? Is there a tear on the inside?

Mine has never leaked. It keeps ice pretty good for a soft cooler. I have the model that holds 24 cans.... great for roadtrips ....

I haven't had any leaks in mine yet.

I have a cheap Orvis one and that SOB leaks all over. Total waste of money.

I have that same one. Good for lunging a small amount of stuff around. I don't use ice in it though, just cold packs.

I'm sold. I'll get one of these when my igloo starts leaking.

Maybe not leaking. More like sweats profusely?

The outside of my polar bear cooler stays drier than a bucket of sand. It's legit.

No tear. Not sure where it coming from. Definitely not sweating. Too wet for that.

A buddy of mine has a Polar Bear, whereas I have used an AO 36 on my kayak for the past couple years... similar design, but I prefer my AO over his PB.

The AO has the heavy duty Vinyl exterior rather than the fabric- much easier to clean and doesn't stain. Ice retention is about the same.

I had a Polar Bear cooler and it started leaking after a couple of years. Switched to Fishpond brand and it is going on 6 years now with no problem.

thanks for the tip on Polar Bear. i have a soft side that i got as a wedding gift 8 years ago that was branded by the King Ranch. no idea who made it but it would keep ice for 48 hours on camping trips as long as it stayed zipped. the nylon handles finally ripped off from years of use. need to see if they still honor their lifetime guarantee.
