We hunt out of Hazlehurst and despite some nice bucks on the trailcams earlier in the season and our food plots coming in beautifully, we haven't seen deer #1. The acorns aren't on the ground ruining everything like last season. The weather was perfect this weekend. The four of us hunting in thick woods, on the plots, and everywhere in between but no results. I guess they're still moving at night. Anyone else having these problems out there?

I hunted the past 2 weekends in MS with 4LSU2. I haven't had much luck, but he missed 2 different bucks yesterday.

We have them all at the scout camp...nah, it must be all the acorns, they don't have to move.

We were all planning to stay until tomorrow and came home early since we saw absolutely nothing. All the cams are picked up so we don't spook them, which makes me feel better about saying they're just moving at night only. We need a solid rain to spoil acorns i guess but I really didn't notice a surplus on the ground. We do most of our killing between Christmas and New Year's but we usually at least see some does or spikes by now. I've been hunting there since bow season opener with NO sightings. It's getting frustrating.

They're eating acorns where I'm at. I've had does eat acorns for the last hour of daylight the past two days. And, I've seen a couple small bucks right after dark on the road.

But this deer was showing up a couple mornings last week.

9 of us hunted 400 acres in hazelhurst for 4 days during bow season and saw nothing. Tracks everywhere, but zero deer seen by any of us.

The cameras are showing mostly night activity, but the 2 best deer seen on my place in several years were Saturday morning. I straight up choked on one and my buddy couldn't get a shot on another. I then missed a smaller buck Saturday evening twice. Yep, had 3 misses in one day. I never miss which is what is much more frustrating and bizarre.

I hunt right through the woods from you. Been seeing deer regularly. Of course, we have 800 acres and only 4 people really hunt it. Our deer aren't really pressured much, but you do see a difference in activity now that there are all the trucks on the road in the early morning and evening.

we hunted ms sat pm.. after duck hunting near NOLA...

I snoozed in stand whilst lil choupique saw 16 deer...no shooters(for the place we were).... and he didn't wanna shoot a doe... but he could have waxed many a doe...

deer were grazing a food plot like cattle.

Perry County, Desoto NF and a private plot.
I saw two deer, a dozen hounds, and more road hunters than I could count. I don't mind the hounds but the road hunters piss me off more than the lack of deer.
