Never tried it in anything deeper than 6-8-10'ish, although that's pretty much the deepest you'll get in South La. marshes. It doesnt usually sink that far before they smash it anyway. this is the KVD one I found on the weedless hook I like to use.

If I had to throw a senko in 8-10 of water to get bit, I'd want to blow my brains out. That would be a SLOWWW day.

Yeah, the weedless hook works well. I found some Gamkashu weedless at Academy and Bass Pro had some VMC's that are weedless. You want to use the wide gap hooks.

You can also use a piece (1 1/4inch long) of an old worm on a regular wide gap hook to make it weedless. Thread 1/3 or so of the worm on the hook, then put the wacky worm on with the "O" ring and finish by putting the end of the hook into the end of the old worm. Heck, it doesn't even have to be the same color as your wacky worm.

I keep one tied on.

Get Big Bite brand

This
I put a small split shot weight about 6" up, gives it a little extra weight and doesnt affect the action. I have probably caught more fish on a senko than anything else.
I dont usually fish it wacky, but I dont use the weedless hooks when I do, just keep using the same 4/0 ewg hook. You will get hung up a bit when you first get started, but once you get the feel down, it will rarely happen. In current, you are going to have to throw up current and let it float down to your target.

That's pretty much as shallow as I ever fish.

I fish one a lot but in the spring around beds. I use a waky jig head 1/16th oz. . The color watermelon red flake or sweet potato pie. (tiki Stik, wave worm) really good late spawn
In high presured water. Pitch it in and aroun beds and let her sit. I use a spinng Rod with 20lb braid and a florocarbon leader in 8lb. Largest fish was a 9.6 last spring.

A good buddy of mine caught a Toledo lunker, 10.3#, on one. Not sure how deep he was fishing. Big Bite - Watermelon Purple swirl (we call it purple nurple) is his go to color.

One of the La. Sportsman issues this Spring had little articles on a lot of the 10+ lb fish caught this year. I recall a few were on whacky Senkos.

Yessir. If I were a fish, IWHI. Caught an 18.5" redfish last weekend on one. Thought I had a wall hanger coming on board.

It's perfect for deeper water. I caught my 2nd biggest bass in 25 ft of water on a drop shot wacky rigged robo worm. The weight keeps it near bottom and you're just shaking that delicious piece of worm shaped rubber.

If you are fishing that same set up shallow.....just make sure it enters the water quietly.

And pay attention to how the tag line runs back thru the eye of the hook. Veddy veddy important.

Forgot about the drop shot wacky rig senko... will slaughter some staging bass before the spawn.

I use the o rings made by lake fork tackle... By far the best... This should weight the worm down enough fishing current... Almost all bites will be on the fall.. Good luck

Hell...it will slaughter the bass during and after. It's a great setup if you can work it right.

Instead of O rings I use the tiny rubber band pony tail holders. You can get like 600 for $2. I put 2 on each senko in an x pattern and then put the hook through the middle of the x.

It allows the hook to sit as it would if it were hooked through the middle of the senko instead of an o ring.

wacky rig senko is the deadliest bait on toledo.

Gets pretty tough to fish though because of wind, but if you can boat position its money.

Truth.

I have never fished Toledo before this year, but in 3 trips I caught every single fish on a wacky rigged senko.

I was with Clyde Tipton for my first Toledo fish, granny pitched it under some buck brush WITH a spinning reel and that fricker destroyed it.
