I am just starting out with this lure. I read that the line should be slack and you just watch the line for movement?

I normally fish water with current. How would I use that lure in moving water?

For your trouble:

-I always have one tied on & throw 80% of the time.

-Don't use Yamamoto Seinkos. They don't last. Get Big Bite brand. This past weekend I got a pack of KVD's that I liked.

-Put finishing nails in the ends if just starting out. Sinks them a little faster.

-let sink, give a couple bumps, let sink. (Same way in current and would def. add nails) Pretty easy to fish. Very effective IMO.

I prefer Tx rigged. But wacky will catch em.

I fish this a lot, especially this time of year. 9/10 times the fish will hit it while its fluttering down. After twitching the bait, give it enough slack for full action and that's when they will hit it therefore very hard to feel the strike. Use line that you can see well, like high vis blue or neon.

If you're going to fish it wacky l, use an O ring. Senko's will last much longer. If you need weight to keep it down use a nail or a flick shake head

I love the wacky rigged senko

Get some weedless wacky hooks, o-rings and an o-ring tool (just makes life easier).

You can start out by bumping it pretty hard to see if you get a quick hit.

If not, just fish like a regular senko. Bring it up and let it fall, pop it every now and then.

I find wacky rig to be much easier on the Yamamoto than Tx Rig. Run the hook through the o-ring but also catch a little bit of the bait too.

I've gone to very small bell sinkers. Run hook through brass loop. Senko keeps it on. It then hangs right under the hooked portion making the worm twitch with each change in line pressure.

So it sounds like in current I should add a little weight to get it to drop quicker.

Will bass make a run with it normally after the bite?

Every time I try I get hung up, so I usually stick to TX rigged

That's how I catch 90% of my bass in CA. But....I also drop shot the rig when I do it.

ETA: when you run the hook thru the senko make sure it's dead center. That will help alot with line twist.

How would it do deep water bumping on the bottom?

It would probably do damn good, but I'm not patient enough to find out.
