You can’t be serious. Maybe if you’re talking about a red wolf, but a grey wolf makes quick work of a pit bull if cornered.

No, but I have a beagle that sometimes thinks he is a wolf dog.

Yes I'm serious. Any game-bred pitbull is winning that. It's what they were bred to do, and a corner is where they were bred to do it.

A wolf would wax the floor with a pit. A wolf literally had double the bit force of a pit, and that’s on the conservative side. It would out weight the pit, has more stamina, and literally kills for a living. It really would not be close.

Hogs outweigh pitbulls too, and are regularly subdued by them.

Tell me you don't know the difference in a pack of wolves and a lone wolf without telling me you don't know the difference in a pack of wolves and a lone wolf. Gamebred pitbulls were historically culled if they couldn't last 3 hours in a match with failing organs and broken limbs. Wolf instincts are to run to preserve life.

My idiot BIL had one for about three months. You have to be assertive and dominant or the dog will take over which is what happened to him. I’m not an expert, but his dog always seemed to display more wolf traits than domesticated dog traits. She liked to be pet and would play some, but for the most part, she just wanted to roam.

Google Blue Bay Shepards. Great breed from down in Florida. I have seen several but never owned one. Not Cheap.

You’re insane. A pit wouldn’t last 3 minutes against a wild wolf

Most here think “pit bull” and vision the blue pits and other family pets people keep in their house. A true game bred pit bull would go toe to toe with a single wolf. The size would be its biggest disadvantage with long legs. A wolf’s instinct is to survive where a true game pit’s only reason for living is to kill other dogs.

Pit bull vs a real wolf. Who you got? Ask White Fang

It’s funny because in that movie white fang wiped the floor with all the bigger dogs. Then the little dog with the “red nose” came in wagging its tail. That one guy tried to warn the guy who brought the wolf about “those breeds” lol

Always laughed when some hardass would be watching the LSU game and he'd sneak up and position himself right out of their sight line.

And he'd just wait.

It was his way of showing you, if he really needed to you wouldn't even know it was coming.

I won't lie, I can move pretty quickly and quiet for a big guy, and I used to do the same thing to him to scare the shite out of him while he was begging the ol lady for food.

Good dog, but honestly too dangerous for most people to have.

I think you underestimate the size and power of a wolf.

From the web:

Pitbulls are known for being some of the strongest, most aggressive dogs out there. But how do they compare against wolves?

In a fight, the wolf would likely defeat the pitbull, but the pitbull would not go down easily.

Though pitbulls are rather unpredictable and can be aggressive toward humans and other animals, they are ultimately no match for their wild cousins the wolves.

Wolves would have several things going for them in a fight against pitbulls:

Wolves have the stronger bite: According to the International Wolf Center, wolves can exert about 398 pounds of pressure in a single bite–in other words, enough to penetrate a moose’s femur to the marrow. This bite is about three times as powerful as that of any dog, including the pitbull.
Wolves are faster than pitbulls: The slim, athletic build of a wolf gives it the ability to run incredibly fast, sometimes up to 40 miles per hour. If a wolf were to chase a pitbull, the pitbull would not be able to outrun it.
Wolves are more powerful than pitbulls: Though pitbulls are an exceptionally powerful dog breed, wolves are still more powerful. Combining the strength of their bite with their superior speed and hunting tactics, the wolves would likely defeat the pitbulls.
Wolves hunt in packs: A lone pitbull against a lone wolf would put up a pretty strong fight and, in some cases, may be able to beat the wolf one on one. But a lone pitbull against a wolf pack would ultimately have little chance of escaping, much less defeating the pack.
Of course, fighting one on one, pitbulls would have their own set of strengths.

Pitbulls are much heavier than wolves, and their bite is powerful in its own right. If a pitbull is able to get the first bite, it might be able to hold its own against a wolf, especially by gripping the wolf with its teeth and using its heavy weight to overwhelm the much lighter wolf.

When I was stationed in Alaska I may have had one; it was German Shepard mix but I'm not 100% sure if it was a wolf or husky and neither did the dog pound. Was like any other big breed guard type dog.

I don't. I just know a lot about various types of working dogs, their histories, what goes into training them, how they operate, and what it means to be gamebred, and know a lone wolf would lose.

I think the keyboard warriors don't know the difference in a petbull and a true bonafide pitbull.

Yeah Google is lying to you. Those gargantuan roided up looking things you see all over the place are bully mixes. A true pitbull is muscular but lean and extremely athletic. Think Bruce Lee and not Mike Tyson.

Also tight skin good for fighting? Yeah if it's not a fight to the death.

Loose skin is good for a fight to the death because it minimizes the chances of a lethal neck bite.

There isn't a livestock Guardian dog on the planet that has a tight-skinned neck.

Wrong again. Why would tight skin be a focal point in breeding programs for over 200 years if it led to lesser pit dogs? Loose skin is like long legs on a wolf, it's just more real estate for a dog to grab ahold of and damage.

There isn't a livestock guardian dog on the planet that's been selectively bred, inbred, and linebred for 2 centuries to forgo organ failure, mangled limbs, and loss of life for sport fighting.
