If it makes you bass fisherman feel any better, I've been struggling BIG TIME on the coast for the last couple months, and i've been fishing a lot.

We loaded up on bream, couple bass and some cats at Lake Ramah few weekends ago. The water is high now so wouldnt recommend it until it lowers

Just find less muddy water down a canal or wherever you can find it.

Isn't this a hard time to catch specks tho? While they move down from the marsh

Basically. They're not quite to the islands yet, but should be within a couple weeks. The cool temperatures are screwing with the fish and the wind has been a constant PITA and making it tough to get out and find some clean water.

This is usually when the islands light up, or at least by first week of may.

I went to verret early this spring and it was muddy as hell, way back in the canals it cleared up but still no sacs or bass hittin anything. If the water has cleared up I might give it another go.

Where we usually go, it should be heatin up in the next few weeks for the trout. When it's on, it's damn near every cast.

Yeah last year around beginning of may every boat was done on trout by 9:30 where I was, but all the action is in bigger water. On the way back couldn't find a red to save our life though.

Just got back. Water was muddy as hell on the entire north side. Couldn't find good water for shite. Talked to a couple perch jerkers and they all said it was rough. Lady at the launch said no one has been catching the last couple days. I caught 2 small bass. Only fished from 11-1, but that was all I could take.
