Not as bad as people like to think. I can get 19-20 mpg on flat ground at 75.

ETA: in the right conditions. Head and cross-winds catch the Tundra pretty bad because of the total height of the body[/quote]

To add my $0.02 on this: I noticed I was getting 25+ yesterday at 77mph in my F-150 4x4 Ecoboost.

I shite you not. I'll try and video it today when i'm heading home.

If I don't post the video tonight/tomorrow morning, it'll mean I drove off the road videoing my instant MPH.

Instant vs average. Check out your instant when accelerating from a red light. Should be close to 0 MPH.

Sure. I get that. What I was getting at is when I was driving for roughly 1/2 mile with nobody in front of me, going 77, I was able to get 25+ MPG.

I don't mean that for a split second it jumped up when i let off the accelerator. I may be dumb, but not that dumb.

ETA: Had I not gotten cut off, i could have averaged 25+ MPG at 77 MPH for a period of time.

Yeah, so can I.

Like I said, I was maintaining 77 MPH for at least 1/2 mile (this means i wasn't coasting).

The read out on your cluster isn't accurate as it is, and it's even less accurate if you don't reset it after each fill up.

My instant read out tells me I get 20-22 crusing at 70-75, while the instant read out on my Bullydog tells me 16-17 at the same speeds.

It was really windy yesterday, so there is a chance you had a 20 mph gust at your back.

Just messing with you man. I understand what you're saying but the way you framed your statement can be misleading. Any truck is going to get better than their sticker average when cruising on the interstate.

This is my exact situation and truck I want. Sorry to hear they are a little heavy for the mud.

Has anybody driven both a 4.6L and 5.7L and can tell a noticeable difference if you aren't hauling anything? I don't really need a truck to pull a boat/camper, just to move the occasional piece of furniture and or lawn mower, so I don't really need the 5.7L, but it's good for my manhood to get the biggest engine they offer.

Can't be any heavier than a Ford 3/4 Ton 4WD with a Diesel. Those things sit down real nice when they get in a mudhole. Better have a D7 dozer running shotgun if you take that thing off road.
