I'm taking a trip to London with a couple day layover in Reykjavik. Any good experiences, places to check out, eat?

Thanks

Someone who posts here on occasion went last year, or the year before. Can't remember his SN. He posted pics.

You took the free layover/flight change option they offer?

Several friends have been and said its AMAZING. Both the nightlife and country/outdoors.

Just remember to wrap it up.

One buddy can speak and read Icelandic. Flights are dirt cheap if you fly through there to Europe, if you can use the icelandic version of the website.

I hear iceland is a beautiful place, but the price of everything is outrageous...I'd like to check it out some day as well...

I was in Keflavik for a good while. Couldn't tell you much about Reykjavik cuz I was too drunk and so many years ago, things have surely changed. My overall memories of iceland.... ...all smiles! Beautiful land and people. :reminiscentsigh:

This is called Hakarl.
I could not bring myself to try it even after drinking a few shots of Brennivin, which, by the way, is called Black Death.

I would not eat either. Don't even want to smell it. I heard it described as chlorine flavored or something.

I've had fermented beaver tail and fermented seal flipper. I can't imagine shark would be any better. I'll never understand the propensity to rot flesh then eat it.
