I wish I could give you more downvotes.

If the OT meteorologists aren't going crazy, it's going to be a regular rain event.

And I didn't flood. In 2012 it took 16 inches of rain in 3 hours to put 2 feet of water in my house. So I tend to not worry unless I see 10+.

And does the OP think outdoorsman don't pay attention to the weather?

Thanks for the Sig quote

Last summer it rained around 30 inches in 3 days

not to be a complete dick, but it was more than that. i recorded 30" in sherwood forest and then quit dumping the rain gauge (6" max vol) because after that i said f-it. it overflowed the 6" gauge before it stopped raining.

Looks like all the yats and yankees that have invaded the north shore will get flooded again. As well as another renewed round BS of calling for them to dredge the rivers.

Over building and shitty planning reaps what it sows.

THIS x 100!!! I saw there is a bill in the legislature to water down the scenic rivers act so rivers like the Tchefuncte can be dredged in the name of flood control. Years ago this would have been laughed at, but developers seem to run the show these days. I could have told you folks who've moved in along 1077 that area floods like an SOB, and was not surprised to see only rooftops of new houses built in Tantela Ranch during last spring's flood. Build in a flood-prone area? No problem! The government will fix it for you! We will continue to have irresponsible development as long as the government subsidizes bad building practices via the federal flood insurance program.

I can sure understand why people who live there don't want to talk about it yet. The situation will be whatever it will be,and you deal with it as it comes.
I will say, I just crossed the river at Vicksburg and it's not looking good. Stopped at tallulah now and it's still pouring, and somebody said it's supposed to go on all night.

Not worried about the rain, but that river level is getting scary. Forecasts say it's supposed to get up to 41' here in BR which is where it was when everyone was freaking out in 2011.

Yeah, this deluge is scary. I've had almost a quarter of an inch so far.

Actually, 41' will be 4' lower than it was in 2011. Cause for slight concern but not near the issue it was in 2011. It has been above 41' over 15 times since records have been kept. They will definitely be keeping an eye on it around Conrad Point where they have seepage issues.
