Half a dozen inches of rain or so scattered over 2-3 days isn't anything to get excited about.

For real... what a fear mongering post the OP made. Last summer it rained around 30 inches in 3 days... it's only supposed to rain 3-6 inches before Wednesday.

Slow down people.

This rain will have zero impact on the Mississippi River.

As of last nights forecast the smaller rivers will not even get to flood stages at most. They will make some adjustments this morning to the forecasts but nothing compared to last March or August.

Its rain people..just get out the umbrella and go about your day.

Lol it's very likely nobody will flood from this rain. Go check all the river gauges. None of them look like shite will get bad.

The fact this is on here somewhat pisses me off. Yes we are going to get some rain, however to think people aren't talking about it is nuts.

I have four friends that all flooded homes and offices now when it rains even a little bit they worry and panic. So no we have people talking about rain that we should be worried. All that is going to do is create panic when it sounds not needed.

OP you need to think before you post people that flooded almost live in fear of it happening again to think they aren't worried that's pretty fricking stupid on your part.

Yea, St Amant freaks out when it gets cloudy outside. Some of those poor people have PTSD or something. Hopefully they never have to deal with that again.

And I didn't flood. In 2012 it took 16 inches of rain in 3 hours to put 2 feet of water in my house. So I tend to not worry unless I see 10+.

And does the OP think outdoorsman don't pay attention to the weather?

Admins need to whack this ridiculous thread. Even the resident alarmist "meteorologists" on the OT have said that this will be nothing compared to last March or August.

The only thing that concerns me about any of this is that they actually predicted a lot less than what we actually got last year

This! I'm not scared of the rain, I'm afraid of the incompetence of those who are trusted to know when to warn me. They've missed more than a few major weather events over the last 10 years that crippled our area.

After the august flood, the predicted river stages have been on the more cautious side at least from what I've noticed. I live on the Amite so I pay close attention to the Port Vincent and French Settlement levels.

It was supposed to but it all went north and south of BR. They were projecting up to 8" of rain.
