There is a different one on hull truth for the same price. Makes you wonder why they are selling what is supposedly the best Bay Boat on earth so quickly.

You can buy a really nice offshore boat for cheaper than that right now...or 75 acres of land.

An idiot and his money...

I really don't undrstand how a boat that size can even reach that dollar amount. What makes it better than a top of the line 100k bay boat?

sea dek on UNDERSIDE of all hatches.. that's when someone has too much money, when he can afford to put sea dek on both sides of hatches

Supposedly the owner of Barker (Kevin Barker) used to run the inshore side of things for yellowfin. Apparently the boats are bad arse and they only turn out on average 2.5 boats per month. They have a backlog of about 50 boats right now. So if you want one of these boats right now you'll pay the piper.

I'm not sure i could ever see spending that much. I'm still looking for the perfect 224 blackjack and i've been super picky because they are so damn proud of them.

Time for me to get a new one. New boat is on order This boat shows as new. Boat has been kept inside with a cover since new. Beat the wait on ordering a new one. Barker boats has almost 60 boats on order.

Wasn't this topic just brought up here last week? Why take an absolute beating on a boat with absolutely nothing wrong with it only to turn around and replace it with the exact same boat, just a year newer?

Don't knock it till you have checked one out.... luxury bay fishing at it's Finest. Kevin Baker may be the best builder in the World today.

Luxury and fishing don't really go together for me, but to each his own.

It looks exactly like a bay boat. With a 350 that has 100 hrs on it.

The barkers are the Bentley's of bay boats. Someone will pay the price.

For some people, you have so much money, it's not completely about getting 165k worth of boat. It's more about the fact that you spent 165k on the boat and the guy next to you couldn't.

Yes, some bigger boats are actually worth that, but there are many bay boats priced purely for this reason. Is a Shearwater nicer than a Carolina Skiff. No doubt. Is it worth 90k.....no. But people with money don't want to buy the same thing as people without money. It's why everything that's luxury exists.

I understand that, but what exactly makes this particular boat so expensive? Is it solely because they're rare or is the quality of the build that much better?

I wouldn't argue against that. He's building some top notch boats. I know a bunch of the players involved. But spending north of $150k on a boat this size is just stupid. You can put all the exotic materials you want, you'll still get your arse kicked and get wet when its rough.

Spent too much on the boat, sacrificed on the crappy house.
