I met a girl on match.com. Seemed like a nice girl, great job, easy going over the phone. on OT scale she was a 6, but I'd take that because she wasn't crazy, drank beer, and liked football. Anyway met her for the first time and she was half bald up top. Hair thinning everywhere. She really was a 1.8. Never again

I've been on my fair share of online first dates. Just go for a drink and if she sucks you only wasted a half hour of your time! I think it's better to get it over with and see if there are sparks over E-mailing and texting forever.
Some of them I practically chug my glass of wine and make up an excuse to leave (one guy was shaking so bad he could barely drink his beer, I felt bad but he was not for me!)
Only have one horror story of a guy who lied to me about where he lived, his job, basically his entire life story. Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until a few months after I started dating him - he stole a bunch of money from me and refused to take the "next step" so I thought he was gay. Years later he apologized and told me his d*ick was deformed and he was embarrassed. Weird.
These days you can get a good grasp on somebody through E-mails and it's not hard to Google somebody even if you don't have their last name so that has helped me this time immensely!
