PSA: Any of you young kids going to Monday and Tuesday celebrations for Mardi Gras in NOLA, call a cab Ubr or Lyft, or some form of public transportation. Have a designated driver. Get a hotel/motel room. Go with a group of friends.

It only takes a second to ruin your life and the lives of many others.

Don't get slappy drunk and drive.

I have been Ubering all weekend and it's been awesome not to have to worry about parking/driving.

Uber is insanely cheap and easy. I'll never even think of worrying about driving ever again while on a night out drinking.

It is also sooooo easy. Just download the app, press a few buttons, and that's it. If a cab company would develop such an app then they'd be making bank, but they're stuck in the past.

Right there with ya, except with two teens, but I do agree as well. I do have to say though I got a chuckle out of Boosie's reply.

Travelling for work now I have become a regular with uber. Love it. So easy and worry-free to boot.

Not to go off topic, but doesn't the state of Louisiana have some lax drunk driving laws? Y'all were the last state to ban cockfighting (not the Aggy type either ). Louisiana has always seemed to be a very relaxed state when it comes to having fun without getting into too much trouble.

Uber and Lyft did a good job making it easy to get a ride this weekend (except Saturday, but that's understandable)

This is why a regional transit line would be beneficial for both BR and NOLA...

Do they still allow you to drink and drive in Montana (provided you stay below the legal limit)?

Admittedly this was years ago when I last heard of this.

I didn't even try based on my past experiences with cost. I don't want to pay $80 to go from uptown to the Metairie line (usually costs me $12). Mid-city to my house cost me $65 last year. frick that.

I just stayed out all day, got tired of drinking right after sundown, and started eating everything we had. Was perfectly good to go (other than being tired) by the time the parades were over. Pace and eat

I believe Mississippi is the last state that allows this.

You could, but it would not be cheap. If you found a driver wanting to make the trip.
