I question the validity of any list with California higher than 50

If I had endless money I would have a house in California. The natural Beauty of that state is incredible. Throw in the hotties and you really can't complain about anything other than high taxes and stupid liberals.

Right, Texas has oil jobs that help the economy here. If it wasn't for that Texas would be Mississippi.

Texas is so large and diverse that it's difficult to say why it's universally shitty. Sure parts are shitty due to economic reasons and parts are shitty for cultural reasons, but from Houston to El Paso to Austin it's all shitty in its own unique Texas way.

So things like the prison population and equality in juvenile sentencing is more of a determination of best states than things like taxes, weather, scenic beauty, and cost of living? Ok sure.

I'm actually surprised to see MA at 1. I knew we'd be top 5, but not #1

Maybe these are the same voters that vote in the pre season college football polls and thought ND was Notre dame?

These state ranking lists are pretty pointless - the specific location where you live is much more important than the state.

Tennessee, especially Middle Tennessee and even more specific Williamson County is awful. Ranking should be much lower. So stay the frick away.

I've spent time in North Dakota - %4 ranking is pure BS.
