The climate control part was meant to be a little sarcastic.
Of course they don't need to be in a climate controlled environment

Wow. So where is the Davis statue if the pedestal is there?
Did the court ruling direct what had to be done with the statues once removed?

Mayor Mitch Landrieu's office said that a request for proposals will be issued within the next day to obtain bids for a company to remove the monuments, which will be stored in a city-owned warehouse until it's determined what will happen to them.

Does Mitch get re-elected or will he face a backlash for this?
He's term limited as mayor and even before he started with all the statue bullshite, he had no chance at winning any statewide election. His political career is over after his mayoral term is up.

You honestly think the country is going to elected the former Mayor of a city like New Orleans? He has ZERO political accomplishments. The highest office he ever held was LT Gov of the last state in the country in everything and the only reason he won both offices was because of his sister.
She's been gone and forgotten and in 4 years no one will even know who she is.

I wonder how long they last there.

WDSU said 100 officers were out there yesterday
That's 10% of the police force...

Poor judgement on the court's behalf.

I'd love to agree with you.
But the media have four years to push this idea. LNCHBOX laughed, but when a politician has both the New York Times AND Washington Post writing about him positively?
Those papers set the agenda for the entrenched media. Read either paper one morning, and watch evening news the next night or so. They don't report everything, but they drive the 24 hour news cycle. It's been happening for 40 years, now, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone with any awareness.
Four years to spin and write wonderful stories about the "courageous, tolerant mayor who stood up to racists?" He'll get backing from the Grievance Industry. He'll get backing from Soros. You can bet that James Carville is already on board, he was at a fundraiser with Carville the night Jefferson Davis was destroyed. Four years to build up his family, write nice about Mary.
They'll know if he keeps his name in the news. This is getting media play, now, nationally, and I'm willing to bet that all but Fox and One America News are spinning this as a victory for inclusion and tolerance.

Perjury? Contempt of Court?
Who would initiate such a proceeding? Would that be Judge Barbier, or would a complaint have to be filed?
