SMU is overrated. The girls are hot but super high maintenance and no fun.

TCU and Towson have you're looking for.

ETA: And USC. Duh.

This can't be a serious question. If you chose Tulane over Vandy, you don't deserve Vandy

Different strokes I suppose but I'll never willingly go back that way.

If I wasn't raised around NOLA, it would be tougher since it would be great college experience if you weren't already familiar with the city. But knowing I'd always have family back home to experience the NOLA "culture", I'd pick Vanderbilt every time. Nashville is awesome.

I think the world of Vandy. I worked in healthcare in my undergrad. At the time Vandy and Emory were the only two Universities in the southeast offering a new technology and I wanted to get some experience with it.

I called both and effectively asked to work for free in exchange for the learning opportunity. I'd arrange my own place to stay and the whole nine yards. Emory wanted no part of it.

Vandy on the other hand allowed me to spend almost two months there and even out me up in a dorm and gave me a food alllowance. Keep in mind I wasn't even enrolled there. I'll never forget them for that..

Great university and people. Nashville is a cool town too.

The pro-Nashville crowd here is becoming intolerably exasperating.

Meh, everyone has their own personal priorities. I was looking at schools in this range back when I was applying to colleges and didn't even look at Vandy. Tulane and Emory were my schools in the south

Is Nashville really that superior to NOLA?

I'll hang up and listen.

Idk if you're trolling, but Nashville is comically overrated on TD. It's not that great.

That almost sounds like a challenge. For a city that prides itself on music, there sure isn't much quality or diversity in live music on the strip or around Vandy, just a bunch of bro country figs doing bon Jovi covers in cowboy hats.

And I'm sure that there's other things to hate, but this one pissed me off.

FACT: go to a popeyes in the 'ghetto' parts of nashville and they will be polite and take your order without a hint of attitude

FACT: you'd have to look pretty long and hard to find a bad area of nashville to tout

FACT: NOLA climate sucks.
