10m is a tough call, I'd say no.
come on man
you're smarter than this

For the average person 10 million isn't going to last generations.
You might be smart with the money, but your kids or grandkids will definitely frick it up.

the money itself doesn't have to last
but the effect of the money will...or should

I'd love to see your face the second your foot comes off, then you get a publisher's clearing house letter in the mail or some shite.
In all honesty, I think I have the ability to earn money enough to provide my family an upper middle class lifestyle. Sure I'd love for them to have even more than that, but not for a foot. It's not selfish. We are giving my kid much more than I had. With inheritance taxes and the fact that I'm not even 30 yet, 10 million would barely make it past my death.

Have any of you not been around someone with a prosthetic leg. I know 2 men with them and you would never know.
I'd cut mine off, stay working till my kids are out of school and retire at 50. Take some real nice vacations now, drive whatever I want, have a nice boat and have the baddest arse woodworking shop in Louisiana and still have $9,000,000 in the bank.

It absolutely should, but it probably won't.
i don't have stats to back this up but I bet the majority of the families who won a similar lottery prize aren't rich 50 years later.

probably because the typical lottery winner is a retard

Assuming I live 80 more years, that's only $125k per year. No thanks. Not sure how I could legally invest tax-free cash for the interest benefits but I'm sure I would get murdered in the process.

Who cares? I earned the money, I'm not gonna let them get their grubby hands on it

Yes
But I've already perfected one-footed karate.

this makes you either
1) a selfish a-hole with zero foresight
or
2) a fricking retard
which one is it?
3) A person who refuses false dilemmas. If I'm taking all the money in the world, then nobody has money but me. Refusing that option makes me the greatest man to ever live.

Can i pick the foot? likely yes.
Posted on 2/25/16 at 11:47 am to Salmon
3) Someone who doesn't need the money.

congrats on being in the 1%

Yes you can pick the foot. I'd take my left off.

Hell, I'd even volunteer to change my name to "Toby".

Probably already said, but absolutely yes... and then I'd just pay to have it reattached.
