I had this girl in my a&p class this summer. Tall white girl maybe 100 pounds.

Had a full back tat. One behind the ear, and several on the knuckles and a tear drop next to her eye.

No way she is getting into med, pa, or pt school.

Tats not visible when wearing work appropriate clothes wouldn't be an issue but sleeves, neck, hand, etc tats.....get the frick out of here. Not professional and like it or not sends poor message to those who don't know the person.

Service tattoos are the only ones that make any sense to me. That said, ink doesnt define one's character........granted it does seem many of questionable character get them. I give everyone a chance and judge on actions, not graffiti.

sat in an interview with a guy last week that had both arms sleeved to his wrists. As soon as I saw him, I could not take the interview serious and he did not make it for the second interview.

Why couldn't you take the interview serious, was he not qualified for the position? Oh wait nevermind I reread your post you didn't like the way he looked so you zoned out and didn't do your job.

This. Unless there were hot chicks in the bar. I would have put in some effort to gain entry.

The example was my only experience with someone jumping to conclusions because of a tattoo. I'll be looking for a job in six years, not now. So, frick yourself.

Oooh, with the attitude to match the outward trashy appearance. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

If I see it, then yes. You shouldn't be interviewing for any job that I can give you while wearing a short sleeved shirt. You should also wear a long sleeve shirt to work at my job, so I'd probably never know.

Who goes on an interview not dressed in a suit and tie? As long as you don't have neck, hand, or face tattoos, the interviewer will have no idea you have tattoos.

It was called bourbon street pub.

How old are you? Bourbon street is THE, and I mean THE.DEFINITE.WIDELY.WELL-KNOWN. freshman bar. Nobody goes in that bar that is over 20 years old (or football players, to slay). With that said, you can imagine what type of shitheads work there, so maybe they just didn't like you and said no.

Also, quite a few bars in Athens have posted "dress codes" at the door. No chains, no ballcaps, no white Tshirts, no baggy pants, etc. I haven't been to boubron street in years, but perhaps they have a no tattoo rule? In that case, you were treated no different than anyone else.

So reading between the lines, I'm guessing the actual story was something like this:

Me and my bro Troy just signed up to join the naval reserve the other day, and we had just had a long day at MEPPS getting weighed and shite so we went to go slay some poon at the hottest club in Georgia. So naturally Troy has to pop off his shirt so the civilians can recognize his official US Navy tattoo and offer up the proper respect. Then some non-serving douche nozzle says we gotta put our shirts back on cause he doesn't give a frick about servicemen. Man sometimes I begin to wonder why I even put my life on the line for this country, but then I look at this tat and it all comes back to me....

This. Guys comes to a interview here wearing a long sleeve shirt and ends up getting the job. First day he shows up in short sleeves with two tattoo sleeves. The boss tells him he was smart to wear long sleeves for the interview because if he would have know he had tattoo sleeves he wouldn't have hired him.

I would not. However my boss has issues with tattoo/piercings and has given me a lot of issues hiring people with them even when they're highly qualified. He's 50 I'm 37.

We've actually had the discussion and he just doesn't like it. I keep telling him the younger the crowd gets the more people seem to have tattoos so he needs to get over it.
