Also the scheduling would be more flexible if possible. I for one would take a pay cut to have more vacation/ overall free time. I imagine that the majority of people would take the trade if it is still possible for one to support oneself and family.
There are many things that come up during the course of a year that I don't have the time saved up. It doesn't have to be the whole day maybe an hour or two.
I have heard that college grads are willing to accept this deal.

I prefer to work less for more money, but I'm also in management.

I make that choice a couple times a year when I choose to stay where I am at. My wife gets 6 weeks paid and I get 4 and I've already turned down an offer for double what I make now, but more hours and more travel but half the vacation. It twas a solid no.

Pretty much why I work for myself. I could make more $$ working for a big firm but would have to travel quite a bit and put in 70 hrs / week.

I'd be willing to work less hours for much more money. That's why I became a dentist.

Honestly, the 40 hr work week is such an antiquated notion.

Before recent tech, it may have been necessary, but I can get 8 hrs of work a day done in four.

I wouldn't have, but I make decent money and work 7:30 to 4:30 M-F with plenty of accruing PTO and sick leave. I liked the schedule of my previous job better as it was 7-5:30 M-Th, but it was an hour commute each way.

I can shift my hours around if I need to during the week, but for now I have no need.

Less time working = more time to spend money. I would need more money.

Bingo. Just need the remaining who believe in the 40 hour week to get out of the way.

Not for hourly employees only. I believe management should have the same option if they don't already

Just get hurt at work, then its less money for no hours. If you want to be lazy, its the way to go. Its what I did.

Ftr, my injury actually was an accident.

Nope.

I DO wish we could all work half the amount of hours we do but for double the pay, and work in shifts. Businesses wouldn't have to close, more people with jobs, less hours worked per person.. it'd be a beautiful thing if it was so simple Just ignore the fact that companies would be doubling salares
