Would you be alright if your 3rd grade child's teacher was a transgender?

Was a Miss last year, and is now a Mr. this year all of a sudden.

Kids are very confused, asking where the titties went.

Would this be cool with you if this were your teacher? What would you tell your kids? Does it make a difference if they switched genders before going to a new school, so that way the kids would never really know? Is the sudden change of genders worse than the fact of actually being a transgender?

Never seemed to bother the kids at South Park elementary. Those kids all turned out fine.

Why would it matter if they're a good teacher?

Sure, as long as they stick to the curriculum and don't try to indoctrinate my kids.

If they ask what the deal is with the teacher, I'd tell them the truth. That their teacher has a severe mental disorder and decided to mutilate his/her body instead of seeking help.

As long as the teacher isn't all in their face about it, shouldn't be a problem.

They're gonna find out about this stuff eventually. I would just preemptively explain it to my kid, instead of letting the teacher or other kids try to explain it to them first

Would you be alright if your 3rd grader's teacher woke up one day and actually believed they were George Washington? The answer is "no." You'd label them mentally ill and they would likely be committed.

But it f they wake up and decide they are the opposite gender, they're celebrated.

as tough as it is for me to understand, that is the world that the kids will live in...may as well do your job as a parent and prepare them for it as best you can...

I'd probably think, "Dammit, why did it have to be our teacher" but be too lazy or not care enough to do anything about it.

It would be cool with me. It's good for kids to be aware of all different kinds of people early on. They giggle about it for a few weeks, and then it never matters again. It's nice to see well adjusted kids.

P.S. being around a transsexual won't make your kid a transsexual

Understanding the teacher/student relationship of today I'd be more concerned if my child's 11th grade teacher was a tranny...

FYI, the treatment for gender dysphoria is to transition the person to their gender of choice via hormone therapy and surgery. And since it's classified as a mental disorder, some insurance companies provide some amount of coverage for treatment. So, referring to it as a mental illness is beneficial to those who have said illness.

I wouldn't GAF. A teacher is either a good teacher or a shitty one.
