What brand is he drinking? The good stuff or the cheap stuff?

I ask because jus like craft beer if you are drinking the good stuff then it's really just a hobby and having 4 or 5 a night is just a "tasting"

Of course it becomes a big problem if you are sucking down the cheap stuff just to get a buzz.

Yes but doesn’t matter because “friend” will keep doing it until rehab and/or liver failure.

Indubitably...that's a health hazard, and I'm no medical doctor.

I definitely can't do the one hitter quitter. Had an old drunk put it to me best: "if you get hit by a train, it's not the caboose that does the damage.

Yes. Duh.

Obviously you need at least a pint for optimal health.

5’11. I was at a normal 155 forever. The 210 fits just right. I did what I could to keep it muscle and not fat.

Add some Xanax and that was my daily routine

I grew up in a house with 2 functional alcoholic parents. My mom mixed pills. It’s a bad combination. They were responsible during the day but once 5pm hit they became a mess quickly.

Idk who you are anyone reading this, but if you’re in your 30s and you think 2 5ths a week isn’t a lot then you need to reflect on your life/health

I think I might be this person. Reading threads like this are truly eye opening because in my young 30s - I figured being relatively successful for my age meant that there wasn’t anything overly concerning though knowing it’s not the healthiest life choice.

I guess much like all things of “youth,” it’s not until it’s too late that you reflect on things and what you could’ve done differently to not get to where you are.

I think it’s time to put down the bottle before I drink myself to the point of no return.

That’s me. I never missed work and performed well. But it was when I had to go on disability that started my downfall.

Doesn't sound that bad. Not next to some of the whisky drinkers I know.

I know it's unhealthy when I do it but it's just so good once it hits my lips.

Dude does not drink on Sundays (not a heathen)

I would worry about his taste tho, Jack is crap.

I have kidney issues and my dr has told me I should drink 1 beer a night or a shot a night. It also helps me with another issue I sometimes have but that’s usually around the time before during and shortly after I have a sinus infection.

I do know when I have a kidney stone I pound back the beers and pass them a lot quicker. Last 3 were damn near the size of a sweet pea.

Does it affect his life and can he stop just fine? That's a lot but if he's not negatively effected and can stop then whatever. But if he can't (going one day isn't stopping) then yeah which is the more likely one. I just got out of treatment (heroin) and full of people that yeah it would be unhealthy for sure, but even a sip would be

And don't just go by his word on it. Many times the person doesn't see how it negatively effects them, that doesn't mean everything is a ok
