So all you guys saying he needs to eat before lifting, I guess Martin Beckham and the rest of the intermittent fasting crowd have it all wrong huh?

I usually don't eat right before. It'll be 2 - 3 hours before on those days and about 6 hours before on other days.

The way I see it is if you have enough calories before hand then you'll be okay. I intermittently fast but I make sure I eat enough at lunch to accommodate the requirements for the lifts. Eating before hand doesn't help anyway unless it's very quick digestable food like orange juice or something.

Intermittent fasting workouts still require BCAA's (which suppress your appetite and fuel your muscles)

Focus on your breathing too. Make sure your not taking a deep breath then holding it while you do your reps

This may be my problem. I do intermittent fasting but I don't take any supplements outside of the occasional Core Power shake.

I usually have a pretty good diet and get proper rest but also feel a light headed after some workouts. Not typically when lifting weights but if I play full court basketball with the younger guys or the once or twice per month that I take a class called BodyAttack. My voice also gets weaker for a couple of hours after these types of workouts.

Make sure you're breathing correctly. Drink plenty of water. If it helps, eat a little bit of candy before a workout.

This is very important. I sometimes hold my breath on heavy reps instead of exhaling like I should. Mostly I do this on squats for some silly reason, which freaks me out cause I can just see the disaster of me passing out with 500+ on my back.

If you don't breathe and brace (hold a big breath), your form will be crap and you'll crumble.

And nice brag.
