I knew this girl...we pulled up to a gas station and she asked if I was going to get down. First time I had ever heard that. I asked her why the hell would I want to dance in the parking lot. She looked at me like I was retarded.

Another one from New Iberia is a padookie (not sure spelt correct).

No idea what they are called everywhere else.

I am from NOLA and we would interchange dragon fly and mosquito hawk all the time.... But, the picture of the long legged mosquito was called a "mosquito eater" (or masquita eata in my best Chalmette accent) around my house.
