Some folks say their two meals are lunch and dinner, others say dinner and supper. I've never seen lunch called supper though.

Fun fact- those were originally distinguished by volume of food, not time. Dinner was the largest meal of the day and supper meaning "to sup" or supplemental, a smaller meal for the day.

Thought that was weird the first time I heard it . its short for getting the house ready for company.

Put dishes away-we say "gonna save the dishes"

To mop the house- always said "gonna pass the mop"

Growing up it was breakfast in the morning, dinner around noon and supper in the evenings.

Now though I usually hear breakfast, lunch and dinner.
