Pennsylvania has some very strange liquor laws. I don't know if it's still this way, and I don't know if there's any difference in the law between where Penn is and where Penn State is, but when I was in State College several years ago, a bar was the ONLY place we could buy a six-pack to go at some particular time of the day - maybe after 9:00, or on Sunday or something. Anyway, no real surprise that a sixer would figure into a PA bar story.
