She's 'bout to get paid.

Well, maybe not. Already offered a crappy settlement which she turned down. But she has no evidence. I'm sure she's telling the truth that it happened, but what can you do without proof?

On disability for stress related ulcers related to the incident? That part sounds like some bull to me.

She should've took that settlement check and went about her business. If she don't have any physical proof, then it must not have actually happened?

With these oil prices, I didn't know that anyone worked offshore anymore.

With as much as EA got paid, they best settle up.

(I know the victim isn't famous, but I would get out of this w/ the quickness.)

With camera sizes and flash memory so small now, voyeur videoing may become a much more serious problem.

Two places women don't belong: offshore oil rigs and US Navy warships.

This day in age, I'd go above and beyond to take care of this situation before it blew up. All you can do is take the responsibility off of yourself ASAP by calling supervisors and them calling the lawyers. If her video shows up online, she'll be getting that, and maybe more, money. Hell, a disgruntled employee could post it online to get back at his company for something

It would be easier to list the places they do belong...

ETA: Despite the responses in this thread, I do feel sorry for the woman in the OP.

Yea, but there was proof there and the video was all over the internet. As much as I can see, that's not the case here.

What's to prevent a woman from buying one of these herself and putting it in their room, and claiming negligence? That easily could be the case here, she has absolutely no evidence that anyone video'd her.

No, no it could not easily be the case. It isn't like she filed a $1MM suit two weeks after the recording device was found. There also doesn't seem to be anyone from the rig who refutes the fact that the device existed, it just seems to have been lost.

She also pursued criminal charges and asked the companies to do the same. I mean she may be shite out of luck since the device was lost, but I don't think anyone is denying that it happened.
