Was this post intended to make any sort of sense?

Most common thing I've seen lately is women changing their last names when married but also changing their middle name to their maiden name.
Lately? That's what I have seen done my whole life. I thought this was the norm.

Pretty common for Asians not to change last names.

its pretty common for women over the age of 30 who have a career.
my wife was the last in her family with her family name, I told her to keep it if she wanted. she didn't.

So, all it boils down to is that she thinks her family has a more prominent last name than your family does. Or, she's a doctor and has an established practice. The doctor thing is the only reason I think a woman should ever keep her last name.

1. Is this a thing now?
Yes it is, especially if the woman has a career/reputation of her own. If she changes her name, she has to work pretty hard to revamp her reputation based on the new name. Easier to keep it.

2. How much of a beta does the man have to be to even agree to this?
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to land a woman with a brain, so this won't be an issue for you.

No it was Lynn
When my mom did the first and middle name callout (you know...when she was really pissed at you) I always felt like it made me sound like some redneck hillbilly child.

when a man keeps his last name after he gets married, i get the impression he's more committed to his old family (mommy and daddy) than the new family he just formed. just my opinion though i know the libs feel differently.
Amazing how a few letter changes can alter a sentence.

i believe that when you (man or woman) gets married, the new family you just formed becomes your number one priority.
Then maybe people should create a whole new last name when they get married, you know, to symbolize how committed you are to one another and detached from your previous family.
My sister kept her last name because our last name is fairly unique, and she didn't want to become one of a million Smiths.

This. My wife kept her maiden name as she had a successful veterinary practice for 12 years prior to our marriage. It's never bothered me one bit.

It took my wife and I less than a week to get everything changed over. It wasn't particularly difficult, and we could have done it faster had we chosen to.
ETA: Having said that, I have no problem if a woman chooses to keep her maiden name.

I can't think of anyone my parents or grandparents age that did. Maybe one or two if I really looked into it.

I may very well be a cuck . Likewise, I might have a side piece as well. Doubt her keeping her last name had anything to do with it. If 50% of marriages end in divorce, i can promise you 98% of the divorced wives took their husbands last name the day they married. Still wont prevent them from sucking another guy's dick. Nor will that expensive wedding ring he bought her.
After 15 years of "wedded bliss" I can promise you the name thing is baby shite compared to the other issues that we've dealt with.
