on a way more sadistic level, is this any more different than the people that are supporting the decisions of those with the "dying with dignity" stuff?

A person can put their cat down before the real pain of dying begins, but they have to watch their parents fight for every breath even when it's clear they are going to die. They are already pumping enough painkillers in people like that to kill a small horse, but because "reasons" that person cannot request a courtesy we give to animals.

Obviously there is room for fraud and murders, but it's also asinine people that don't want to are forced to suffer.

I know it's a "slippery slope" according to some, but this evil bitch was basically hammering on this dude to kill himself, something like 1000 texts were exchanged in the couple of days leading up to it.

The facts here are pretty egregious. She later acknowledged that she could have stopped him and then wanted all the "credit" for organizing a softball charity event after the suicide, but wouldn't move it to the town where he and his family lived. I don't like the charge, but I can see why it was applied to these facts.

I think he had suffered from severe depression and had attempted suicide previously, but never went through with it.

Honestly imo, because end of life is not about the actual person dying in many many cases. It's about the family and their want for more time. I think it's foolish for a person to not have the legal right to have assisted suicide if they are terminal.

The guy was scared and even got out of the car when the cm started to take effect. She talked him into getting back in and going through with it. She should be in jail for that. Glad she was convicted.

I'm going out on a limb and saying someone who's openly researching ways to kill himself and involving his girlfriend isn't exactly innocent here.

As someone who had a relationship where suicide was threatened, it is one of the most fricked up things you can do to a person. Those moments of time between someone threatening suicide and responding to say they aren't going to do it are some of the longest things on the planet, and terrifying. Do I call the cops? Do I call EMS? No, she's just joking/attention seeking, or is she? If I call in the Calvary and it turns out she was just joking, will I get in trouble? frick, frick, frick she's not responding. Oh my god did she do it? frick.

I agree with this. She should have just told the family or someone to just get him help, and left it alone. Instead she sent the texts which in my opinion, didn't send him over the edge. this dude wanted to die. He was going to do it eventually. I do agree with her being guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

You should read the text messages. She berated him for not killing himself, calling him a pussy, coward, etc. She told him to buy a generator and a hose. It was ridiculous

Or don't. It's pretty fricked up. I had about all I could handle halfway through and stopped reading
