Sucks for you. They don't make the predictions and the models they post predicted the winter storm last February pretty accurately.

Zack Fradella Fox 8 hinted at this yesterday for the end of the month. He's normally very good with long range forecasts. Actually, he's a good met one of the best on TV. I enjoy his scientific explanations communicated for a layman's understanding.

It’s fun to look at the pretty colors but wake me up in a week. Then wake me up in another week.

Almost two weeks out, baw. Just a few days ago it had most of the SE and all of the East coast having Siberian-like temps. I'm talking about -25° in AL. That was for the same number of days (not the same days) as this is.

Not only that but at least 4 days in a row below freezing... the model run stops and it's still 19 degrees lol

Generally, when you say this....

the model run stops

what the model is showing doesn't mean much, at least with the long range models.

GFS has struggled with Winter weather setups outside of a week so far this Winter. It did fairly well with the severe setups, but it hasn't with Winter weather. Like I said, a few days ago, at the two week period, it tried to kill most of the Eastern US with an Apocalyptic Winter that saw temps near -50°f in places. It had negative temps almost to the Panhandle.

We really haven't had a good freezing rain event in Louisiana in quite some time. I look forward to the power outages and tree canopy damage.
