This weekend is looking pretty damn interesting for your part of the world and up into TN/KY. Got the Euro and GFS on board for snow in the 100 hour type range.

I look forward to the power outages and tree canopy damage.

What tree canopy. There little to none left in my area. Ida took care of that pretty effectively.

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on it. The last round missed us, thankfully.

Temps here don't look to be cooperating right now with highs in the low to mid 40s. Looks like a cold rain, with lows in the 20s at night, though we could see some sleet/freezing rain.

I don't know, though, that 12z GFS run looks more interesting. Timing will be everything, I guess.

We really haven't had a good freezing rain event in Louisiana in quite some time.

Besides that we had a borderline cat 5 roll through and take out anything weak in SW LA in 2020 and a borderline cat 5 roll through and take out anything weak in SE LA in 2021.

Louisiana’s tree canopy is as strong as it’s ever going to be.

refuse to trust a winter storm prediction from a link titled "Tropical Tidbits"

It was spot on for the ice storm last year

Ahhhhhh shite. I've learned from my stupidity back in February/Early March 2021 here in Central Arkansas. Pipes froze for 3 fricking days

Not letting that shite happen ever again.

“It” didn’t do anything. Tropical Tidbits is just one of the many sites you can get the model data. Which is why the name being tropical doesn’t matter.

Don't model chase, baw. It is still there for extreme Northern LA, but a day earlier. One thing is for certain, it will change 50 times between now and then.

If out past 120 hours, dont really care about the model unless it has "ensemble" in the name.

Here's a fun one, if this GFS forecast holds for the Jan 23rd, we have another Ice Bowl type game in Green Bay

Got through the snow and freezing rain with the power still on. It was cold AF but I breathed a sigh of relief. Then the next day the power went off and stayed off til the following Sunday.
