Get back to me when Christians start forcing families to split if they leave the church.
That's fricking hysterical.

You ever heard of the Inquisition?

ETA: Get back to me when the Scientologists do something 1/1000th as bad as that shite.

Nailed that sentence.

I love when someone insults another's intelligence while, at the same time, fricking up the language he's known for decades.

That's the point I was making. The only thing separating Christianity from Scientology is time.

Scientology does some shady shite. "fricking cult!"

Christianity murders thousands of people for not believing in God. "Yeah, but that was a while ago."

Both religions are based on irrational nonsense. One has the benefit of time. The other doesn't.

Dumbass.

ETA: Seriously, think if Christianity were started tomorrow. Would you be a believer?

This. The Constitution only guarantees the free exercise of religion. Taxing churches in the same manner as you do other entities in no way prohibits one from freely exercising his or her faith.

It's crazy how many families Scientology has torn apart.

My heart broke for some of those people as they told their stories. Especially the guy who didn't find out about his mom dying until a couple months later and the guy who had a twin brother that was scorned from the Scientology church(the guy had disconnected from his brother and hadn't seen him in years) and was killed in a car accident....and the church tried to forbid him from attending his own identical twin brother's funeral.

How is the government promoting or favoring one faith or church if it taxes them all equally?

15 He said to them, “And who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven!” (Matthew 16:15-17).

The power to tax is the power to destroy. Taxing religious institution then allows the government to manipulate those institutions via taxation (like they do every other aspect of life.)

I've known scientologists, Muslims, Hindus, Christians, agnostics, atheists, witches, etc.

Scientologists rank #5 on that list for craziest.
