My guess is that he had been texting all weekend and she was basically sick of it. Probably just a token reply text and she would "deal with it" when she got home. Then gets home and finds out he actually did it. Much easier to redirect her self guilt onto someone else.

it's all speculation but this could be a possible scenario, what is strange to me is, generally speaking, people that usually go through with suicide just do it, the ones that announce or threaten to do it are usually just crying out for help

Yeah that's exactly why I bet she brushed it off and didn't react more directly

Why is she taking a girls trip if he's husband is that stressed?

Not sure why people keep saying this.

When I'm alone in my house for a weekend, I relax a ton. Walk around naked, eat pizza and drink beer, watch Sportscenter 30 times, play golf, etc.

Maybe they both thought it would help and it didn't?

She should quit blaming the airline and look in the mirror. Why was she on a girls trip when her husband was struggling? Why did she merely text back instead of calling?

My guess is she is deflecting blame.

He was struggling with stress. See my previous post.

Nothing like a weekend alone to help my stress. I know everyone is different, but lets not assume they didn't think this would help.

The text reached her just as flight crew were finishing cabin checks, but she said she knew the text was "serious" because her husband, who'd been very stressed recently, never threatened suicide before. She said that she told a male flight attendant what was happening and showed him the text messages.

"The steward slapped the phone down and said 'you have to put that in airplane mode. We were pushing away from the gate,'" Momsen-Evers recalls. The unidentified crew member explained that it was “FAA regulations.”

I don't understand. They can tell you to put the phone on airplane mode, but they can't physically force you to.

The most they can do is ground the plane if you refuse. I would have called 911. The attendant can't do anything.

I mean, these issues don't just come out of the blue.

You're on a "girls trip" and you're that oblivious to the mental state of your spouse?

Then the text "no no", which is a clear underreaction. Just really weird and unfortunate circumstances all around this case.

I can't believe she is blaming this on the airline and a bunch of people are backing her up.

I would have made the call home at that moment plus a call to a friend/neighbor to make sure they head over there. Worst case I get kicked off the flight before take-off.

I would think the natural reaction to having a loved one texing they're going to kill themselves would be a reaction of panic. Texting "no no" then pushing send, then looking at my phone waiting for a response, that just seems so weird to me.

Anyone else starting to think the bitch had him killed and this whole dramatic txt thing was set up by the hitman/her to cover sell the suicide narrative? Also his life insurance is null with a suicide, could be trying to collect some money from the airline?

depends on the policy, most that I've had excludes suicide for 6 months to a year, she may have bought a policy before the girls trip though

She is claiming she wanted to call him. The choice was fly home and be out of comma for a couple hours or get the heck off that plane and quarterback a rescue remotely.

It doesn't seem that Difficult to me.

Right before takeoff, she received a text from her husband that read: “Karen, please forgive me for what I am about to do, I am going to kill myself…”

What a dick. Just leave a note like a normal suicidal human.

She probably went on a girls trip to "figure out their marriage" and what happened in New Orleans didn't stay in New Orleans.

How about not leaving your stressed out husband to go on a girls trip.
