One thing I admire about Spud is that, although he's a resident of Jefferson Parish, he cares deeply for New Orleans issues. He understands that Orleans Parish issues affect the surrounding parishes.

Some afternoon last week, Kaare Johnson was interviewing Edwin Edwards on 990a.m. around 4:00p.m. I had switched off 870 due to boredom. Kaare is great, IMO. I used to love his Golf segment on Thursdays when he was back down the dial...

Kaare was throwing him softballs at first, but, started peppering him towards the end. The ole GOVNAH was getting a little testy... Edwards kept mentioning his biggest accomplishment ever, the State Constitution.
Kaare's response was in so many words, wooopity, friggin, DooDah.

I've been a Kaare fan for years, since I was in high school. I've actually never met him, but really do enjoy his show. New Orleans West, the home of traffic, lots of restaurants in Metry, but not one good one in St. Bernard, where life is hard hard hard.
