Why do hospital workers feel it's OK to wear scrubs to a restaurant?

A quick trip to the store after work, I get. But don't wear your filthy arse scrubs into a restaurant (fast food MIGHT be OK I guess).

How do you know they are not going to eat before their shift?

I see no problem with it.

Because what you have on is totally sterile, right?

Totally agree. I also cannot comprehend why doctors wear their lab coats out on the street. They clearly don't understand why they wear lab coats in the first place and makes me question their understanding of basic biology.

How do you know where they work? I know some people who work in the medical billing field that wear scrubs and they have no contact with patients.

Because in this particular case, it was a friend of mine who I met up with, after he got off work. He said he didn't see the big deal in it.

unless they are showing up after having have had blood spattered on their scrubs, why the hell does this matter to you?
Do you just like to bitch about everything?

Saw a guy at DFW going through TSA in scrubs with a stethoscope around his neck and his hospital IDs still clipped to his top. We get it, you are a Doctor. Are we supposed to believe he is so busy he didn't have four minutes to change?

I don't either. I've gone to a bar at 8 am with a group of nurses before after a really bad shift.

If I'm doing anything that there is a chance I'm gonna get bodily fluids splashed on me...I'm wearing a plastic gown anyways so nothing would be on my scrubs anyway

You should thank them for bolstering your immune system. Ungrateful people.

I know some douchebag med sales reps that wear them to fine dining establishments after hours when taking a dr out to eat.

MOST medical professionals will change into fresh scrubs prior to going out to eat. Otherwise, they are a walking petry dish for all types of nastiness.

"Hey look at me, I work at a hospital!"

Typical of that profession. Want you to know that they are more important than you, when in reality most of the ones wearing scrubs answer phones all day in a doctors office.
