David LaFleur he was hands down the best athlete. He was smart and made a good life for him and his family after football.

What about Kenneth Guidroz? Terrance Jones?

At my school, it's either Eddie Lafrance, Shane Shelley, Chris Henry, or James Wright

Chris Markey maybe. Some of our other teams actually did better, so maybe there were better athletes in stuff like soccer or baseball. I'm not sure. I don't remember any names.

Same for me. You and I may know each other .

I was the best athlete on any of my HS sports teams. Todd Kinchen was second.

Didn't go there but the small town of Springhill in NWLa has a Heisman winner and an NFL Offensive ROY. That's hard to beat.

It's where Devin White comes from.

Carlos Sample

He was all-parish and probably hon. mention all-state.
LSU chose Fess Irvin over him. He schooled Fess every time they played in high school.

Carlos went to Southern and by the time he was a Jr./Sr., he was putting up 20-30 pts regularly.

He was also the best hitter on the baseball team.

He's coached a few local Bball teams, including Istrouma and Scotlandville. Don't know where he is right now.

Carlos would not have missed that free throw that Fess did in the NCAA tournament that sent LSU home. I guarantee.

Tommy Calandro. Olympic Weightlifter and a hell of a football player. Runner up would be Mewelde Moore, Minn. Vikings RB.

Temeka Johnson- we graduated together from Bonnabel in Kenner.

We also had a guy draft to MLB Joey Gathright - played for the Rays, Cubs and Royals.

Kendell Beckwith lately. Back in the day it was Reece Adams when I was in high school in the 70's and Larry Musgrove in grade school in the 60's. Three bad mofos.
