I’m about 30 miles west of Nashville and have seen reports of 80 mph. This wasn’t a burst or squall line. This was 4-5 hours of sustained 50+ mph madness.

I rode out hurricane Floyd in Savannah, GA and the winds Friday seemed more intense.

Our power was out from noonish Friday until noon today. Tons of damage.

Yep we had that in Brentwood, south of Nashville. Kids were off of school for that, and maybe more so the tornado warnings. Definitely more than a few roofs around here with some patchiness, and some trees down.

We had to roll up the overhead door to bring something in with the forklift at the shop and the wind blew open the front door, it hit someone's car and smashed the whole panel of glass out of the door.

Then I went home to a tree down on a powerline in the back of the neighborhood and the fire department cutting it up to get it out of the intersection.

It blew hard as hell until about 2 o'clock when it rained like hell and was clear and calm about an hour and a half after the rain stopped.

It’s been fricking with my head for the last two weeks. It has caused so much drainage I’ve gotten a GERD flare up, which pisses me off because I gave up booze for Lent.

Pretty much everyone, Eli. We had a whole big thread about it. Several fatalities were reported from those storms.

I’m in Franklin and we got it bad but not that bad. Sustained winds of prob 35-40 with gusts 60+. My office in downtown Franklin lost power so I went home but we never lost power at our house. Kinda wild because the power went out when the sun was shining. My parents in Germantown had two massive 100 year old oaks blown down in their backyard, fortunately they only took down a chunk of fence and not their house.

We had a straight line wind storm back in the summer of 2003 that knocked out power for a week and the carnage looked like a hurricane. Winds iirc were about hurricane strength and they lasted all night long. Seeing massive trees swaying towards the house was terrifying

We did in north Louisiana. Building a barndominium and the wind took two metal roof sheets off the sky track and slung them straight down at me on the ground. Look like a double barrel 12’ guillotine flying at me, but luckily they just missed.

Yup, lost power for about 6 hours. One of the local roads was still closed today

Yeah, it got intense in Knoxville Friday afternoon. Hail, sideways rain, strong wind. The worst of it came and went quickly though.

For all you doubters, that’s wind gusts of 53mph.

Yep! That Taco Bell explosive bowl burrito caused a lot of wind, thunder, and hail.
