Hegel
Kant
Schopenauer
Thomas Aquinas
Nietzche
Jung

Hegel's dialectic as an explanation of the progression of existence (thesis, antithesis, and synthesis) has made more sense to me than anything Ive ever read or learned.

Teilhard De Chardin

Jesuit, mystic, transhumanist. Some called him a heretic.

Nietzsche was a disaffected, pre-hipster hack (maybe slight exaggeration) of a philosopher. A dilettante. Smart dude in a lot of ways, but not a first-rate philosopher, at least not as evidenced by any of his writings.

I'd suggest that there's a difference between "many people who like Nietzsche" and "Nietzsche".

of course there is, but I've studied him and my above opinion stands. He was a smart man, could read numerous languages fluently, and had a wide range of intellectual pursuits. But as a philosopher, he was more revolutionary for his age than profound across the ages, despite what the "many people who like Nietzsche" may believe.
