Musk's idea of sending people to Mars will never happen with real human beings.

Do you know how many people said this about great accomplishments of the past?

I would say 99% of the time if there is a will, there is a way

shite, before antibiotics were created, the overwhelming consensus among doctors was that we would never be able to create an antibiotic because it is too closely related to our own cells. People died all the time from stubbing their toe and getting an infection. Think about how absurd that sounds right now? That's like 100 years ago.

Same thing will happen with cancer. We currently can't kill cancer cells because they are too closely related to our own cells. But pretty soon it will happen.

I know I will get down voted, but creating a colony on Mars would be fairly easy if the entire world was motivated to do it. We have the tools to do it. It's just a matter of motivation and dedicating the resources to it.

The US alone went to the moon on the computer power of a modern calculator.

Just imagine if we didn't have constant warfare and every countries defense budget was spent on getting to Mars. We would be there in 10 years.

The geniuses who figured out how to fill 2/3 of a bag of chips with air and sell them for the same price as a full bag.

Jobs was a marketer and designer, not an engineer. So I question putting him on the list. Gates I can agree with.
Jobs revolutionized:
The computer industry (Macintosh)
The movie industry (Pixar)
The music industry (iPod)
The phone industry (iPhone)

He changed the way we communicate around the world.

Bill Gates ain't got shite on Steve Jobs. Gates was a mastermind businessman that stole ideas and cornered markets with shitty products.

Its crazy that Jobs has been dead for over 5 years and Musk potential genius won't be seen for several decades. Almost men of two different generations.

Not discrediting PayPal as a genius move.

And not that Gates hasn't done stuff of high intelligence, but would he be viewed as more of a computer baron along the likes of Rockefeller and Carnegie?

He was born more than a decade before Einstein and died more than a decade before him as well. He is from the same generation of men the OP was trying to get comparisons for.

I agree with this...Jobs had realistic short term business vision...Branson, Gates and others all fall in this boat...

Musk may separate himself, though, but his message is a result of 100 years of postulating, I can't give it to musk
