Movie theater which is now movie tavern in Covington. We'd also hit up Applebee's and books a million, both of which are closed.

At the start of high school it was the sock hop at the Mamou Youth Center.

By my Junior year it was The Evangeline Club and The Purple Peacock.

It’s hard to even fathom now, but the LSU Union and the LSU Campus Lake across from Cow Palace near what is now the rec center (didn’t exist when this started) was a pretty crazy high school scene. We’d set up kegs by the lake and buy beer in waxed yellow and or orange flowered Dixie cups at the Union. Smoking and shooting pool, bowling and ping-pong. Good mostly clean fun.

My weiner and a very scrambled channel 99 where you could occasionally make out a boob amongst the squiggly lines for a split second

If you got the timing right it was a magical, rare experience that was worth celebrating

Pretending to be sick and staying home while the parents went out to eat or to a movie. And then downloading a 3mb porn gif for 2 hours off Napster.
