Allen Edmonds all day. Outlet and shoe bank are more reasonable especially if you wait for a sale. Can't beat the quality.

Ecco. I'm a real fan of the look of Johnston and Murphy, but not a fan of the way they fit

I usually go with Cole Haans or Rockports. Not too expensive and fit my feet well.

Ill second this. Ive gotten some good deals on Cole Hahns and Ive paid several hundred dollars at times but these shoes last and always look great. Worth the money.

I have gotten some of the longest use out of Ecco but I really like, and get the most compliments, out of J&M wingtips.

Who accommodates a wide foot the best? Allen Edmonds couldn't quite do it on the pair I bought, going up any further in size made the shoe/foot slide all over. I've lived my whole life just having to deal with it.

Surprised my feet aren't in worse condition like a Chinese woman's being bound.

In the Alden / AE price range, Carmina is my favorite (they were better pre-price hike).

Other than that, G&G or Edward Green.

When you say next size, are you sizing up on width to E or EE?

Spend $350 on Allen Edmonds and wear for 20 years, or spend $150 on anything else and wear for 2 years.

used to be formidable 20 years ago. Now they just suck. They make some nice looking shoes, but the quality is seriously lacking.
