I know the pain. I developed the oddest sleep patterns in school due to multiple all (or almost all) nighters most every week for several semesters.

one more bum elective for April

Colorectal surgery :rimshot:

We get 3 months of vacation over 11 blocks (sounds like ya'll do 2 + Christmas break?). If I added "radiology" ending on the Friday before Mardi Gras and then wrote that I had off the following two months, it would round out my schedule, save for a few lectures that make up the collective graduating class's 11th month. It's going to be a fantastic spring. I'm a frontloader, vacation-bundler. I suppose I am a hospitalist at heart.

Our rule is that you can't have two vacations back to back. You only get two months off during the year, not counting the few weeks for Christmas break.

I scheduled all my tough rotations early and I'm coasting like a boss in the 2nd half of the year. I can't wait.

Senior Design
Control Systems Design
Probabilistic Methods of Signal Analysis (most say this is most difficult EE class)
Computer System Design
HDL Chip Design
FE prep class

The only class I'm really interested in is Controls. Too computer/programming heavy for me as I'm more interested in power, communications, and electronics, but I needed the electives.

I would quit.

We have a block from mid-december thru mid January. It's encouraged to take vacation then. Only electives are approved, no required rotations can be done. But if you, say, decide to do a clinics month in your hometown that month, you get to be home for the Holidays and keep a vacation month for the end. I really wanted to save all 3 vacation months and finish in mid January, but it just didn't work out right.

Tomorrow is actually my last day of my Peds portion of this FM rotation. I either have to be there at 0830 if we don't have any babies in the nursery or...earlier...but I won't know how much earlier until 0645. I don't know why I don't sleep at night. It's pretty stupid.

I'm in the same boat. Sleep is good, I just know that if I go to sleep, I have to wake up and go to work.

On the plus side, I'm only following one pt right now and we round at 10. I'll just sleep in morning report.
