heater that is leaking, you don't need to replace it soon...you need to replace it tomorrow. you are not far at all away from coming home to a flooded house.

My water heater is 23 years old and working like a champ. Also, I don't give a shite if it blows up. It is in an outside closet that has my Christmas decorations that are the bain of my existence

My parents still use the little 4' tall mini-fridge I had in my dorm room in into the early 80's.

Would you believe my washer, dryer, refrigerator, and dishwasher are about 33 years old?

older Sub-Zero 590 series, I got it because it was the most reliable sub-zero.

They stopped that series in 1999.

( I have a 1955 O'Keefe and Merrit I'm restoring now to sell . Last one I sold for $2500 and only had $400 in it)

Technically it's still in the house till tomorrow. 1962 GE freezer. Died in February. It went down with a half a deer and ten pounds of shrimp. I cried because they were head off.

A Kenmore microwave my parents bought for me in 1985. It still works perfectly.

can't beat the microwave and toaster from the 70's. Must not use them much.
We microwave water to heat it up on demand rather than run water through the pipes from the water heater. .

Dishwasher from 1990. Its not at full strength.
Oven/stove top from 1990. Works thank God.

Past winter sucked without any shrimp.

My appliances at the lodge are pretty old. Late 88-92 vintage since we only use them 10-15 days a year they will last till I'm ready to retire and renovate it. (Except the fridge, it's only a few years old and they have to run all the time)

The Oven computer just went out and the part is over $200
